Building a greenhouse can be a very rewarding experience. I started from scratch with just a few 4 x 4 posts and some 2 x 6s. I then went to my favorite place to get my windows. Free store on craigslist. I found enough free windows to fill up the walls of my greenhouse. Total monies spent $180. It is very close to being finished and I cant wait. I now will have plenty to do this winter. I am very excited about this and will be growing tropicals all winter. Not to mention all of the vegetables and not so cold hardy bamboos. To say this was an adventure is quite an understatement, but well worth all the hard work. So if youre thinking about gardening through the use of a greenhouse I strongly reccommend it. I”ll also be trying to heat the greenhouse with green methods like stone floors, water tanks and insulated ceilings along with 1/4″ thick glass panels. So here at Gabelmans Gardens it will be business as usual even in the dead of winter. So stopĀ in and check it out and get your tropicals early this year. I am very excited about the addition of tropical plants including, tropical waterlilies, tropical banana trees, elephant ears and many others to come later. Thanks for reading.
