I have just started a new greenhouse an am very excited about getting into this new world of gardening for me. This will be a green greenhouse that will be running off of sunlight and rainfall. I have already learned alot about this kind of gardening. It is totally different from gardening outdoors, but just as fun. I will be sharing some of my experiences with you from time to time. As I”m am just learning. I am heating it with the power of the sun, some 25 gallon barrels filled with water and painted black. This will release the heat slowly at night and keep my plants nice and toasty. I also have an inground pond for another heat sink. This will come in quite handy for storing my tropical waterlilies, some other marginals, and some floaters. Not to mention some of my Koi for fertilization purposes. These 3 things combined will give the greenhouse the humidity it needs and help to heat, store plants, fish and above all else look really great. I was lucky enough to get some glass panels with etched paintings in them and they really dress it up nice. Still not finished but getting close and I”m already using it for all my tropicals and so far so good. No more boring winters for me I”ll be gardening all year long. So don”t be afraid to try something new. You might be surprised at what you can accomplish. I”ll be back with more gardening tips and new things I”ve learned. As we all know gardening in cincinnati can change from one minute to the next. So be prepared for anything but don”t let it stop you from trying something new.
