Bamboo Plants In The Ground

A Bamboo plant in the ground will gain its full hardiness by the time it is established. By that I mean that it has many of its own culms around it for protection. In order for this to happen the bamboo plants need to grow and spread out. So if you’re looking to grow some very large canes or culms be prepared to give your bamboo room because it will need many canes to get large. Once it has established you will be amazed at how fast this magnificent plant grows. It’s one of the most incredible  things I have ever witnessed and I get to do it year after year after year. And with 39 different species of bamboo plants I get excited many times a year. So Plan a Visit To Gabelmans Gardens to check it out. It’s something you won’t soon forget.

A Bamboo Plant in a Pot

A Potted Bamboo Plant is different from Bamboo in the ground. A bamboo planted in the ground is a very durable plant. However, a bamboo in a pot is a very needy, under-developed plant that if left to its own devices will most of the time die.  It will  require extra  care because the pot will dry out faster and it will need to be fertilized more often. Just over-all harder to take care of.   Bamboo in the ground will mostly survive on their own.

If  the pot is left out in the cold to freeze solid, many times it will die. But bamboo plants in a pot that is protected from the elements will survive without much care. But bamboo in a pot will always  be less hardy than bamboo plants in the ground.

Learn All About Bamboo Plants

When you visit we will teach you everything you need to know about growing, containing and maintaining Bamboo Plants. We love to teach you what took me many years to learn and you’ll learn in just a few minutes. But the best part is getting to see the giant canes   it always takes people’s breath away.
